For Rest - A Natural Escape at Point Plomer

As the name suggests, For Rest is a beautiful two-bedroom timber home nestled amongst a lush rainforest canopy on the famous Point Plomer Road, between Delicate Nobby and Big Hill.

Wake to the sounds of native birds, explore the surrounding block and immerse yourself in the incredible flora and fauna that make this part of the Mid North Coast so special. Protected under a NSW Conservation Agreement, the property offers a rare opportunity to experience nature at its best. Take your time and you may spot an array of wildlife, including colourful birdlife, red-necked wallabies and lace monitor lizards.

For beach lovers, simply walk down the lane and across the road to access Big Hill Beach. Wander along the headland, enjoy a peaceful beach walk or settle in for a surf away from the crowds.

With its peaceful rainforest setting, abundant wildlife and easy access to the coast, For Rest is the perfect place to slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature.

A place of peace and quiet

Mark - 12th September 2024

If you are looking for a roomy space for extended peace and quiet, this is the place for you. We loved being among the trees and enjoyed the many different birds that came to visit. The house is very secluded, yet only five minutes drive to the closest beach and not much further to the many headlands where we enjoyed well kept walks, whale watching and walks on deserted beaches. Very much a place for rest.

Great value beach cabin

Anonymous - 22nd August 2023

For Rest is a great, affordable cabin for beach lovers and a small family. Its nestled in the forest about 1km back from the beach. Great for winter surf trips with hot shower and great fire place and heaps of videos. Was a perfect winter retreat with my teenage sons

Rainforest cabin

Rosa - 19th April 2022

Cute simple cabin in the rainforest. Bed comfy and kitchen functional. Two key improvements needed - lumpy couches in dire need replacement and walls need a good clean to get all the dust and some mould off. May not be an issue for everyone but was tricky as I am allergic.Bathroom functional and some nice homey touches from the owners. A lot of love has gone into the building of this property. Floors were clean. Take boots and spray for the leeches! it really is the dappled rainforest. Make sure you ask for directions as difficult to find for a non local. We couldn’t get the fireplace going as seemed to be blocked but would be nice if functional. We were happy we brought a 4wd to get up the driveway with all the rain.

For rest in the floods

Michael - 7th April 2022

Well priced rental for people who like it a bit we do. Right in the trees and with millions of mosquitoes. Very shady so everything is damp.....I would have liked more sunshine on the house as mould is on the windows and the verandah is virtually unusable because of this and the mozzies. I like the area and now the road is sealed from Crescent Head it is easy to get about. Some maintenance is needed to prevent the rainfall runoff bogging up the end of the driveway and depositing a lot of mud there. The short path to the verandah needs attention as it is slippery with leaves and it needs a bit of gravel spread perhaps. The house inside is quite adequately supplied though that TV system is very tricky for someone unused to technology to get it working easily. Cleaning was only fair as there was dirty used alfoil on the griller and some dirt hidden by open doors as well as very dirty windows esp the bedrooms. This sounds like a whinge, but I like it here and have returned 3 or 4 times now.

very relaxing and beautiful

Sophie - 24th August 2021

We loved our stay a For Rest. This is our second visit and we always find it relaxing and tranquil. The surroudning bushland is great, the local people are great, the beaches are beautiful. There is a cafe at waves campground that is in walking distance. Lots of beautiful walks and lots of privacy. very little signal which is also nice. Kitchen well equiped and bedding provided. Just bring food, books, dvds and puzzles.
